A sepia tone photograph of a group playing tennis at the Newport Casino. Identified in the photograph are T.A. Lawton, Nan Lawton, Mrs. T.A. Lawton, Charles Lawton, and Charlotte Lawton. At left ,a man, four seated people, and a dog watch the tennis match. One man and one woman stand on each side of the net; a man in a bowler hat looks on from the net's post. The women playing tennis wear bustled skirts and boater-style hats; the men are dressed in white. Markings are painted on the grass; the court is surrounded by trees and houses.
