A photograph of the "Odd-Fellows Hall," located on the north side of Washington Square. A sign reading "William S. N. Allan," as well as a decorative mortar and pestle, is visible at left; Charles Street is visible towards center. Probably printed from a broken glass plate (see line). House on right is referred to as the Buttrick House; house on left is referred to as the Townsend House (see Downing and Scully's "The Architectural Heritage of Newport, Rhode Island").
