A photograph depicting Washington Square and Touro Street, looking east towards the Colony House. A carriage is visible at left near a statue; the guns of the 18th-century sloop "Tartar" can be seen to the left and right of the carriage. Photograph was taken by Joshua Appleby Williams, whose stamp reads as follows on reverse: "Villa Parties, Horses, &c. & VIEWS OF ALL KINDS Taken by J.A. WILLIAMS, PHOTO ARTIST Newport, R.I. P.O. Box 507."
