Description
An American Queen Anne walnut side chair (Boston, c. 1730-1740). The chair has an open back with a solid rectangular veneered splat accented with two rectangular bands of inlay and rounded stiles form a double bowed concave crest rail. Below rounded stiles form a double bowed crest rail. The slip seat is covered in a modern brown leather is framed by a scalloped seat rail. The front cabriole legs with pad feet have knees that are highlighted at the edges with C-scrolls. The splayed back legs have block feet. There are two thin rounded side stretchers and a single baluster turned rear stretcher.
