Description
A CARVED WOOD PHOENIX (American, 1st quarter 19th century). The phoenix is of gilt pine and perched on a rocky outcropping, gazing to the left. The enormous outstretched wings are prepared for flight, the body features intricate feather carvings, and the head includes glass eyes.
