Description
A PAIR OF MAPLE WITH RUSH SEAT NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND SIDE CHAIRS (America, circa 1780). The chairs in transitional Queen Anne style having saddle crest above pierced vase-shaped back splats flanked by tapering stiles, rush seats, shaped front seat rails, urn and block turned front legs joined by bulbous turned stretchers, splayed square back legs joined by three flat stretchers.
