An oil on canvas landscape painting (American, dated 1893) by William Trost Richards (American, 1833-1905) entitled "Second Strait, Lake Placid", depicting an expansive shimmering lake in the foreground. In the distance, at left, a lone latine rigged sailboat sails on a lake that meanders off to a narrow strait. A mountainous landscape is along the horizon. The artist's signature is in the lower left. In an ornate rococo style giltwood frame.
