AN OIL ON CANVAS PAINTING ENTITLED "CASTLE WILLIAM" OF A NEW YORK MARINESCAPE BY GRANVILLE PERKINS (1830-1895) DEPICTING THE BATTERY: CASTLE WILLIAM GOVERNOR'S ISLAND (American, circa 1890). A New York harbor scene of Castle William Governor's Island with steam, sail and row boat traffic in the foreground passing in front of the fortification in the middle ground. The skyline of lower New York City is in the background. It is signed in the lower left: "Granville Perkins".
