Description
TWO PENDANT ANIMALIER BRONZE SCULPTURES (French, c. 1901) after Auguste Cain. One sculpture depicts a tiger killing a crocodile. The tiger appears to be roaring as he stands over and claws a crocodile which is on its back. The other sculpture is of a tigress with a dead peacock in her mouth. She brings it to her cubs who stand at her feet. Castings by Jules Allard (1832-1907) from original plasters by Auguste Cain (French 1822-1894).
