Description
A CARVED WHITE CARRARA MARBLE BUST OF GEORGE PEABODY (English, 1857). A bust to half-right of the subject with long sideburns and wearing a toga. It is signed "J. E. Jones, Sr. London 1857" (John Edward Jones, Sr. Irish School, 1802-1862) and rests on a painted English white oak pedestal carved with laurel wreaths.
