LIFE-SIZE STATUE OF FEMALE NUDE "VENUS" (Italian, 20th century) copied from the original by Canova in the Pitti Palace at Florence and influenced by the nude "Venus Dei Medici". It rests on circular marble base. This Venus tries modestly to conceal her beauty by pressing a garment to her beautiful body. The garment creates a cascade of folds which add to the charm. It is known as Venus Italica.
