Description
A Florentine white marble statuary group by E. Arrighini with a white marble pedestal and base (the statue, Italian, circa 1880) The group depicts four putti with long curly hair. One of the figures is seated and holding a lute, another is seated and holding a violin, and flanked by two standing putti. One of the standing putti is partially draped and holding a book of music. The four figures are raised on a rock-form base carved with foliage and centering a fleur-de-lis on the front. The musical score is signed at the bottom: "E ARRIGHINI". The pedestal base has a large oval top above a fluted frieze and scroll design.
