Description
A Louis XVI giltwood demi-lune shaped console table (French, c. 1780) with a Spanish brocatelle marble top above a conforming pierced frieze carved with scrolling acanthus leaves terminating at each end with paterae and a single paterae in the center. The console is raised on three carved acanthus scroll supports joined on a pentagonal block accented with paterae. The tops of the scroll are draped with a flowering swag. It is after a design by Rcihard de Lalonde (French, active Paris, 1780-1790).
