Description
A FRENCH ANIMALIER BRONZE OF TWO PARTRIDGES AND THEIR CHICKS BY JULES MOIGNIEZ (1835-1894) (French, 19th century). A sculpture of a male, female and four chicks feeding with a staff of wheat as a background all on upward sloping group with ferns and flowers and supported on an integrated oval base signed by J. Moigniez. This group was first modeled by Moigniez in 1865. Jules Moigniez was an animalier from the 19th century French school and a student of Cornolera. He was known for his game and hunting compositions.
