Magazine Clipping of "Les Amies de la France"

A magazine clipping entitled "Les Amies de la France," including a photograph depicting Frederica Berwind Harjes seated on the floor with her two sons in sailor uniforms. The caption reads in translation, "Mrs. H. Harjes whose kind devotion to the Allied Armies earned her the War Cross [medal] with a palm." Mrs. Harjes was the niece of Edward Julius Berwind of the Elms. She earned the aforementioned medal of honor for her work in hospitals and canteens in France, during the First World War.
