Photograph shows a northern view of a building located at 39 Touro Street, built in 1850. Collection includes prints and negatives of Newport buildings restored and or renovated by Fall River - Newport architect Thomas Marvell (nephew of Miss Alice Brayton) and preservation architect for the Preservation Society of Newport County.

Built in 1850, this building in Washington Square has housed numerous different businesses and has many different architectural influences, including Gothic and Colonial. At this time it was home to Moore Virgadamo & Lynch LTD, who later moved to Valley Road. To the left is a cross which signified St. Joseph's Rectory, also housed here at the time.
