Diary Entries from the Yacht "Josephine"

August 4 - 13, 1870

Diary entries on loose leaf paper, possibly written by a member of the Brayton family during a summertime trip aboard the yacht, "Josephine." This trip occurred during the 1870 America's Cup Race, and the entries describe encounters between the "Josephine" and the yachts competing in the race. Papers also include a small newspaper clipping about the adventures of the "Josephine" when it came upon "Magic," the yacht that would go on to win the race.
