BREAK WAGON (American, 19th century) designed by Robert Livingston Stevens of Meadowbrook Polo Club and manufactured by Healey & Co. Breaks were used to break horses to harness, this one was pulled by polo ponies. The body of the wagon is painted cream with dark blue striping. Its seats are upholstered in tan Bedford cord. The inner compartment space has vents for dogs. There is side-by-side seating up top, with a two-seater in the back. It has metal rimmed wheels and round lamps flank either side. The frame rests on semi-elliptical springs in the front and back.
