Description
AN ANTIQUE WHITE MARBLE REVERSE STRIGILATED CISTERN (Roman, AD 220) of cylindrical form, with vertical rows of wavy channels, a molded rim, a side drain hole, and a square marble patch on the lower side where a drain spout may have formerly been. Fastened with iron pins, and set on a conforming circular marble pad and square base.
