A BLACK AND WHITE PRINT TITLED "CENTRAL BAPTIST CHURCH, NEWPORT, RI" (American, c. 1879) by J. P. Newell (American, 1832-1898). It depicts the Central Baptist Church (also known as the Clarke Street Meeting House) at 13-17 Clarke Street, Newport, RI, next to the Newport Artillery Company. On the National Register of Historic Places, the Central Baptist Church was built in 1735 and designed by Cotton Palmer.It is housed in a cherry frame with an églomisé surround.
