Description
FOUR-PIECE TEA SERVICE (German, 1888-1901) by the Saxon Porcelain Manufactory (Sächsische Porzellan-Manufaktur). The bodies of all the pieces are decorated with colored garden flowers, gilded decoration, and have lids. The set is comprised of a hot water jug (.1ab), a teapot (.2ab), a coffee pot (.3ab), and a sugar bowl (.4ab). The lid of the hot water jug is topped by a rose bud shaped finial and the lid of the teapot is topped by a blue thistle shaped finial. Both the teapot and coffeepot have bearded faces decorating the tip of their spouts. The underside of the pieces are marked "T X" for the Saxon Porcelain Manufactory (Sächsische Porzellan-Manufaktur).
