A PAIR OF SALTS (American, mid - late 19th century) with boat-shaped bodies and foliate rims retailed by Ball, Black & Co., New York. They are decorated with hummingbirds perched along the rim and leaf and berry motifs at center. They are engraved with the initials "MHCV." They are stamped on the underside "Ball Black & Co. New York 419 English Sterling."
