Description
A SET OF FIVE LOUIS XIV STYLE CARVED GILTWOOD FRAME STOOLS OR TABOURETS (French, c. 1892) by the design firm Jules Allard and Sons. They stand on four turned legs with carved foliate decoration. The legs are connected by a single decorative H-stretcher. The padded seats are upholstered in solid green silk velvet woven by Prelle & Cie with replicated silk gimp trims by Reymondon, Lyons. The tacks securing the upholstery along the bottom edge of the seat are decorated with raised gilt faces
