Description
A POLYCHROME-ENAMEL AND GILT ROSE MANDARIN PATTERN PLATTER (Chinese, c. 1870) with a gilded monogrammed "M", for the Morris family, at center. The oval platter features alternating scenes of figural groups and scenes of birds and insects in nature. These scenes are separated by a border decoration of lush foliage and butterflies done in hues of pink, orange, blue, and green.
