Description
ONE PORCELAIN FIGURINE OF A CHERUB (German, 19th century) by the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory, Dresden, Germany, based on a model by Michel Victor Acier (1736-1799). The polychrome painted cherub wears a crown of roses, a purple cloth flows over its waist, and it holds an arrow and scroll in its hands. The cherub leans against a white and gilt pedestal holding a severed head wearing a garland. The pedestal and cherub stand on a ring base decorated with a gilt Greek key design around the edge. It is marked on the underside with two crossed blue swords and incised with the model number "E 82 0."
