Description
A LARGE RENAISSANCE REVIVAL OAK CHAIR (Italian, mid 19th century) with elaborately carved decoration. Scrolled legs are joined by an X-shaped stretcher, the seat and backrest panel are upholstered in a foliate tapestry. Carved roaring lion heads make up the armrests, while putti on either side of an initialed cartouche, reading "MA" for Maitland Armstrong, decorate the crest rail.
