Description
AN ANTIQUE WHITE MARBLE STATUE DEPICTING HERA (Roman, 2nd or 3rd century AD), the goddess of marriage and wife of Zeus, she is depicted as a young majestic woman gazing to the left with her right hand clutching her breast, her left hand is extended with the palm up, she wears a long robe draped in close folds, her head is crowned with a polos, a high cylindrical crown. The sculpture is raised on a rectangular base with a marble plinth.
