Two Large Gilt Bronze Baroque Chandeliers

Description
TWO LARGE GILT BRONZE BAROQUE CHANDELIERS (French, 19th century) from the workshop of Jules Allard et ses Fils, Paris, installed in the Gold Room/Ballroom of Marble House. The design of the chandeliers is after a c. 1750 chandelier model by the sculptor Jean-Jacques Caffieri (French, 1678-1755). Heralding putti with trumpets surround the base. Acanthus leaves decorate the candle branches. Both are wired for electricity. The mounts emanate from the mouths of the Apollo decorations on the ceiling.
