Description
A CARVED GILT-WOOD LIBRARY STEP STOOL (French, 19th century) by the design firm Jules Allard and Sons. Done in Louis XV style, the stool has two treads upholstered in red cut velvet. The steps are supported between pierced ends with molded borders, which are carved with flowering foliage and raised on short legs with scrolled toes and flower-heads at the knees.
