Description
A CARVED & PAINTED LONG STOOL (French, 19th century) by the design firm Jules Allard and Sons, done in an 17th century Italian style. The rectangular wood seat has a molded edge and is supported by two scrolled end supports that rest on trestle feet with carved cabochons. A stretcher extends from below the center of the seat to the trestles, the stretcher is carved with an entwined flowering vine. A loose cushion upholstered in red damask sits on the seat.
