A CENTER TABLE AND A PAIR OF CONSOLE TABLES (French, 19th century) from the workshop of Jules Allard and Sons, Paris.
.1ab – The center table is composed of carved gilt-wood with a circular mottled grey marble top. The top sits on a shaped frieze carved at intervals with scallop shells flanked by foliage. The table is supported by a central columnar support carved with foliage and four shaped legs surmounted by a winged female mask festooned with fruiting foliage and ending in foliate claw feet. The legs and central column are united by shaped stretchers carved with leaves.
.2ab - .3ab – The matching carved gilt-wood console tables have rectangular mottled grey marble tops with molded borders. The shaped and pierced apron frieze is carved with scrolling foliage and two pairs of birds surrounding a flower filled urn. They each stand on two cabriole legs surmounted by winged female masks. The bodies of the legs are carved with foliage and end in paw feet.
