Description
A PAIR OF BRONZE ANDIRONS (French, c. 1895) in the 17th century Italian taste, attributed to Bouhon Frères, Paris. The matching andirons have a bulbous columnar shaft surmounted by a putto blowing a trumpet. They are raised on a shaped base, centered by a pierced escutcheon supporting two putti and a chimera on the bottom. The sides of the base depict reclining lions supporting putti.
