Description
A PAIR OF LOUIS XV STYLE UPHOLSTERED WING CHAIRS (French, 19th century) from the workshop of Jules Allard and Sons with upholstery originally by Gilbert Cuel. The kingwood frames are trimmed with ormolu details. The shaped crest-rail is surmounted by a raised ormolu foliate design. The seat rail has an ormolu foliate design at center. The back, sides, padded arm rests, and cushion seats are upholstered in a modern red cut velvet brocade. The chairs stand on four cabriole legs with ormolu foliate details on the knees and terminate in acanthus leaf brass sabots.
