Description
A PAIR OF GOTHIC STYLE OAK STOOLS (French, 19th century) from the workshop of Jules Allard and Sons with upholstery originally by Gilbert Cuel. The stools are topped with green floral pattern cut velvet cushions rewoven by Prelle after the original Renaissance style pattern. The cushions are edged with a gold braid trim with hanging tassels at the corners. These tassels are the conserved originals. The oak frames are supported by X-shaped supports on either end and are joined by a turned stretcher. These stools match the Gothic style settees and side chairs PSNC.392.1 - .6.
