Description
A PAIR OF PORCELAIN VASES (French, 19th century) by the Sèvres Porcelain Manufactory. The matching vases have a flared gilded lip decorated with a border of leaves against a blue ground. The bodies are predominately decorated with small white circles outlined with blue dots against a yellow ground and are painted with square scenes of exotic birds in a landscape setting. They both stand on columnar circular bases. The underside of PSNC.312.2 is marked in blue with the Sèvres cipher mark of two crossed L’s with a "y" in the center, directly below is a dot and the letter "N."
