Description
PAIR OF CHINESE VASES (Chinese, c. 1830) decorated in the Rose Mandarin style. The vases have a flared scalloped lip with a gilt rim and painted flowers. The long necks have painted figures against a pale blue ground and two pairs of raised gilt animal figures along the sides. The bodies are painted with groups of figures and Chinese characters. This central decoration is bordered along the top and bottom with foliate bands featuring dragons.
