Description
An American silver cann (Boston, c. 1760) made by Benjamin Burt (American, 1729-1805). The cann is pear shaped with a slightly flared opening rim, scrolled handle, and low footrim. The front of the body is engraved with a monogram of "EPA" in script. The handle has a scroll motif thumbpiece. The underside is engraved with the block letters "F" over "I H."
