Description
A Chinese export bowl (Chinese, c. 1790) painted in blue and iron-red enamel with gilt highlights against a white ground. The exterior rim of the bowl is decorated with a blue band with oval and rectangular panels of alternating blue and gold floral springs. The lower section is decorated with sprays of flowers. The interior rim is decorated with a gilt band and the center is decorated with a peony and three smaller blooms in iron-red, blue, and gold.
