Description
An over-mantle painting depicting Newport Harbor and Easton’s Point (American, c. 1760) framed in the architectural molding of the northwest bed chamber of Hunter House. The wall painting was likely commissioned by Col. Joseph Wanton, the second owner of Hunter House. It was uncovered during paint research in the room in 1952.
