Description
An American slipware pie plate (Pennsylvania, 19th century) of large circular shape with a pie crust edge. The redware plate is decorated with wavy bands and dots of slip of a yellowish tint and covered with a clear lead glaze. The triple wavy bands form a stylized rectangle at center on a field of dots. The reverse is partially blackened from the firing process and unglazed.
