Description
A famille-rose dessert plate (Chinese, Canton, c. 1820), the small Chinese export plate is decorated at center with a small medallion containing a bird on rockwork by flowering tree peonies, surrounding the central medallion are four figures and four arrangements of precious objects. The rim is decorated with turquoise, black, and gold fretwork and eight reserves of alternating arrangements of precious objects and baskets of flowers.
