Description
A famille-rose dessert plate (Chinese, Canton, c. 1820), the Chinese export porcelain plate is decorated at center with small medallion containing lotus flowers by rockwork below a heron in flight, the central medallion is surrounded by four figures and four arrangements of precious objects. The rim is decorated with a repeating landscape scene with three figures surrounding a gaming table and two sages with attendants.
