Description
A pair of silver tablespoons (American, Newport, mid-late 18th century) made by William Hookey (American, c. 1728-1812). The matching spoons have a deep egg-shape bowl, the reverse of which is molded with a pointed arch drop. The handles are engraved with the stylized script monogram “V” over “LM.” On the reverse, below the center of the handle, the spoons are marked with the touch mark “WH” in block letters within an oblong punch.
