Description
A silver teaspoon (American, late 18th – early 19th century) possibly made by either William Holmes (American, 1742-1825) or William Hookey (American, 1728-1812). The spoon has a shallow oval bowl with a raised scallop shell and oval drop on the reverse. The handle has a gadrooned edge and is inscribed at the top with the monogram “DH” in script. The reverse has a partially struck “WH” touch mark within a rectangular punch.
