Description
A George II mortar and pestle (English, mid 18th century) composed of brass. The mortar is of cylindrical shape with a tapering body and flared rim. The sides of the body are accented with horizontal ring turning. It stands on a circular terraced foot. The pestle terminates at either end in a flat bulbous knob, the baluster turned handle flanks a central ring.
