Desk Clock

20th century

A desk clock (Swiss, 20th century) manufactured by the Gotham Watch Co. The clock case is composed out of carved grey-green marble and stands on an oblong rectangular base. The rectangular frame surrounding the clock dial is carved with a relief vine design. The rectangular clock face is fitted with two hands and is inscribed “GOTHAM” below the 12 and “SWITZERLAND” below the 6. On the reverse the brass back plate is inscribed “SWISS” with the serial number “235963” and “GOTHAM WATCH Co INC.”
