Description
A pitcher (American, c. 1941) composed of sterling silver hollowware, made by Manchester Silver Co., Providence, RI. The pitcher has a bulbous body and curved side handle. It is inscribed on the lower body “NEWPORT COUNTRY CLUB / 1941 / WON BY / MR. AND MRS. BYRNES MACDONALD.” The underside is marked with a tilted cross within a crown, beneath which it reads “STERLING / 949 / 2 ½ PTS.”
