Description
A set of six dinner plates (French, Limoges, c. 1890) made by L. Bernardaud & Co. and retailed by Higgins & Seiter, New York. The plates have molded gilt borders and are decorated around the rim with six floral spray cartouches against a cobalt blue surround with stylized gilt foliage. They are hand painted at center with a floral bouquet reserve. The plates are marked on the back in red “L. Bernardaud & Co. / Limoges”, below this in green is “D & Co / France”, and below that in red is “Higgings & Seiter / New York.”
