A set of two unmatched Imari plates (Japanese, 19th century):
.1 = Is painted at center with a tall vase filled with flowers on a white ground. The inter rim is painted with four lotus blossom reserves. The outer rim is painted with curling tendrils and flowers.
.2 = Is painted at center with a squat flower filled vase on a white ground. The inner rim is painted with four lotus blossoms surrounded by gilt floral designs, the outer rim is painted with curling tendrils, flora clusters including chrysanthemums, and hollyhock leaves.
