Description
A white painted linen press (American, mid-late 19th century) produced by George E. Vernon & Co., Newport, RI. The convex cupboard doors are mounted with curling Aesthetic style brass strapwork and lock plates, the doors open to reveal a shelved interior. Below the cupboard are three long drawers fitted with Chippendale style drop handles and lock plates. The whole is raised on four bracket feet.
